How to choose the right PVC sheet
1) Thickness (micron) — what does it mean?
Micron (µm) is a unit of thickness. 1,000 micron = 1.0 mm. In PVC sheets, thickness affects rigidity, durability, and handling.
Simple reference: A typical bank card is around 0.76 mm thick (≈ 760 micron). If you need 350 micron, imagine roughly about half of a bank card’s thickness.
2) Size — which format should you choose?
- A5 & A4: best for small projects, prototypes, covers, overlays, and everyday office/document use.
- A3: ideal for a larger working area (bigger prints, templates, professional protection layers).
- 35×50 cm: practical for packaging work and cutting to custom sizes.
- 50×70 cm: great for professional production needs, signage, larger overlays, and frequent cutting.
- 70×100 cm: best for large-format work, high-volume professional use, and maximum flexibility for custom cutting.
Choose by Color
Tip: For maximum visibility choose Clear. For reduced glare, Frosted Clear works best. For presentation and contrast, White options are ideal.
Choose by Size
Tip: If you plan to cut sheets to custom sizes often, larger formats (35×50 / 50×70 / 70×100) typically offer better flexibility and efficiency.
Choose by Thickness
Tip: For flexible covers and light protection, consider 150–250 micron. For more rigidity and professional use, 300–700 micron is typically preferred.
